Rock Crab Fishing at Torpedo Wharf and/or Hike Across the Golden Gate Bridge

Bring the family or friends out to the pier and enjoy stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge at Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Presidio of San Francisco! Guided leadership, food and drinks, crab nets, and bait will be provided at no cost to participants. Additionally, participants will have the option to participate in a guided hike over the Golden Gate Bridge to explore the location on foot, with an emphasis on self-discovery, inquiry, sensory experiences, and mindfulness practices. Beginning crabbers will be provided with basic instruction on how to get started. Introductory clinics will be 30-45 minutes long and cover such topics as safety and ethics, baiting, casting a net, retrieving, species identification, regulations, and conservation.

When you arrive you will have an option of partcipating in crabbing or going on the hike over the Golden Gate Bridge or both!

Lunch: We will be provide a salad or sandwich, bag of chips, water/gatorade and a KIND energy bar for all participants. If you would like to change your sandwich order, please let us know 72 hours in advance.

Gas Cards: $20 gas cards will be provided at lunch for up to 10 families/participants.

Distance: If you decide to take the optional hike 3.5 mi.

The program is designed to have a long term positive impact on participants by including a span of twenty no cost multigenerational family friendly events over nearly two years. Guided in immersive fishing, crabbing, kayaking, camping, backpacking, kite flying, and hiking events with emphasis on skill building as well as valuing the flora, fauna, and biodiversity of our coastal areas.
