Members Hike at Ano Nuevo State Park
Join Saved By Nature in partnership with host California State Parks for a special opportunity to learn about northern elephant seals! Did you know male Elephant Seals can weigh up to 4,500 pounds! We'll get to see them up close in their natural habitat inside the Año Nuevo Coast Natural Preserve! This event is limited to 15 participants.
Logistics:
Elephant seal tours:
- No food, candy or drinks may be consumed during the walk. Water is okay. We will have food before or after the walk.
- The walk is 2 1/2 hours long and covers a walking distance of 3 miles. There are some areas where we will have to walk on sand.
- Weather at Año Nuevo can be cold, wet and windy. We advise that you dress warmly and wear sturdy walking shoes; bring rain gear and a hat.
- We also recommend that you bring a camera and binoculars to add to the pleasure of your walk.
